Sawtell Trials Remote Rescue Tubes for Public to Use

Sawtell Surf Club and Off Harbour City Council have collaborated to trial the placement of six rescue-tube stations along Sawtell Beach to enable willing-and-able members of the public to perform a rescue in the event of seeing a swimmer in trouble.    The idea was instigated by long-time member of Sawtell Surf Life Saving Club Mick McGavigan and will end in March 2020.    The stations provide instructions for use for beachgoers who may not be familiar with the tubes.  See the NBN News item here:
