Goodooga Kids visit Sawtell

During March 2019, we hosted 15 school children from Goodooga (a town 740 km north west of us that boosts of population of about 247).  The Sawtell Bonville Lions club bought these kids to the coast for a week holiday to escape the drought and have some fun on the coast.   We had 2 mornings with the kids to teach them surf skills and let them enjoy time in the ocean.

Thank you to Kel Peace and Pete Dawson for taking the lead and helping educate the kids, they learnt beach safety and survival tips and enjoyed swimming and catching waves in the ocean.   Also thank you to all our water safety for your help and support which ensured the kids were safe and had a great time.

A fantastic initiative for the Lions club to arrange and it was wonderful to see our community embrace these kids.   Well done Lions and thank you for allowing us to be part of your activities.
